What we did and how this aligns with our aims and values.
We held our initial volunteer training sessions in October 2024 (one in-person and one online), during which we spoke to prospective volunteers about the various ways in which they could get involved with our campaign. We highlighted our core aims and values, discussed the language often used when harassment is depicted in media, and spoke about direct and indirect ways of intervening when harassment does occur. It was really interesting to hear from prospective volunteers about why they wanted to be involved and to engage in conversation about how we can work together to create much-needed cultural changes.
